GARFIELDS BIRTHDAY LET THEM EAT CAKE

(Cat. No. SMILE28, Released 26/05/08, CD/DL)

It was a long time coming, but 2008 finally saw the release of the first "proper" album by Garfields Birthday, Let Them Eat Cake. Recorded between 2005 and 2007 in Bristol and Weymouth, the album features ten helpings of perfect melodic indie pop, complete with jangly guitars, harmonies and hooks galore. Many of these songs were already live favourites and some remain part of their live set today!

1. Molly's Eyes
2. Punch & Judy Man
3. Take a Ride
4. We Know Your Name
5. You Should Know Better By Now
6. The Bastion of Teenage
7. Mr Newton
8. Mystery Boy
9. Sugar Pop
10. Cocaine Joe

"It's all over within a half-hour and, like a tasty piece of cake, makes you want a second helping. While I'd never heard of Garfields Birthday until now, they've become my favourite discovery of the year."

Steve McLean (Chart Attack)

"For Britpop lovers everywhere, it seldom gets better than this."

Kevin Mathews (The Power of Pop)
